As a passionate academic practitioner, Dr. Julie Riggs has worked as a health and safety professional, at operational and strategic levels, for over 20 years in a range of industries in the UK and Europe delivering effective health, safety and well-being management programmes which includes compliance, business strategy, risk management, policies and procedures, training and best practice projects. Dr. Riggs has a Doctorate within her field and would describe herself as an academic practitioner, with a strong self-reflection and critical appraisal quality. Her strengths are influencing and leading health and safety, acting as an agent of change. She has strong technical and management knowledge and a proven record of implementing successful projects in complex organisations.  In addition to her technical and practitioner skills, Dr. Riggs has a strong client facing proficiency and influencing skills, which are essential in developing culture and imbedding best practice. Dr. Riggs has a passion for health and safety that extends beyond the traditional application of compliance.  As a concept developer who can stretch the boundaries of the application of health and safety and deliver a programme that contributes towards the commercial growth, business objectives and people agenda.
